How to setup a label printer (for most Zebra label printers)

These instruction were created for Zebra label printers.  You may need to 'read between the lines...' to adapt these instructions to your particular label printer.

For Windows XP or Windows 2003 Servers

  • Find an existing label report in OneSource and customize as necessary. (Be sure to mark the properties of the report as Custom;)
  • Goto the Page Setup properties of the label...
    • click on the Page tab.
    •  Click 'Use Specific Printer
    • Click on the Printer... button.
    • Select the name of the Label Printer that you ALWAYS want to print that label to.  
    • Click Properties (for the selected label printer driver)
      • Change the Width to the width of the label (the width is typically the side that comes OUT of the printer).
      • Change the Height to the height of the label (how many inches will flow out of the label printer before being torn off).
      • Change the Unprintable Area for the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom to 0.00 each.  
      • Click OK to close the Print Driver Properties
      • Click OK to close the Page Setup popup window.
      • On the (Larger) Page Setup windows still visible, click on the Margins tab.
      • Change all 4 margins to 0.
      • Click OK to close.
      • Click the X at the top of the report page and click OK when prompted to Save the report.
