Free (or inexpensive) PDF Printers that work well with OneSource

  • How to install and setup Bullzip PDF printer (for manual, NON-OneSource Use. To Use with OneSource see the instructions in a section below).
    • When Installing Bullzip in an environment with multiple users they will each need a PDF folder created. This will prevent locking issues when another user leaves the pdf report open.
    • Setting this up for John at XYZ Widgets.
    • The path where the file is created will be C:\Documents and Settings\John\PDF\XYZ Widgets.pdf
    • The above path will be used instead of the path shown below on the General Tab
    • Download and run BullZipPDFPrinter setup exe.( BullzipPDFPrinter_7_2_0_1320.exe)
      • Configure the Settings for OneSource
      • Start > Bullzip > PDF Printer > Options
      • General tab > File Name field, type <personal>   (Or type the exact PATH you want so save the docs in).
      • Dialogs tab > click ‘Never’ option (in both of the 'Save As - Dialog' and ‘Settings – Dialog’ sections).
      • Actions tab > click ‘No’ option (in ‘Show Document’ section).
      • Click ‘Apply’ button and then the ‘OK’ button.
    Note: If necessary, be sure to download and install Adobe Acrobat (PDF) Reader (to be able to VIEW the PDF files created by the Bullzip PDF printer).

    • Open the OneSource Company Setup & Preferences.
    • Click the Global tab.
    • Select BullZip as the Default PDF Printer.

    • Open the Bullzip Options.
    • General tab: 
      • File Name field, enter: <env:PDF>
      • Select 'Remember last folder' check box only. (Uncheck all others)
    • Dialogs tab:
      • Select 'Never' option in both 'Save As - Dialog' and 'Settings - Dialog' sections.
    • Actions tab:
      • Select 'No' option in 'Show Document' section (if you want to attach it, not open it).

Randomly Changing Default Printer

    • On your Remote Desktop Connection if you have printers checked it will change your default printer every time.
    • Here are the steps to correct this.
      • Right Click on your Remote Desktop Shortcut and select edit.
      • Select the Local Resources Tab
      • Unselect the Printers check box
      • Select the General Tab & Save
      • Log onto the server
      • Start > Printers & Faxes > Right Click Bullzip > Set as Default Printer
