Understanding the Car-Part.com - 1place Integration FILES

The Car-Part.com integration creates Car-Part files (in the required format).

Car-Part.com uses inventory information supplied by part suppliers to make parts available in its online search results. Car-Part.com states that its Basic Web Service allows parts to be uploaded from an inventory management system so they can appear as potential suppliers when customers search for parts.

The 1place export process prepares two files for the Car-Part.com upload:

  • Invent.cap – contains the exported inventory information.
  • NumbersMap.cap – contains the related number mapping information.

After the files are generated, they are moved to the C:\PKZip folder.

The Car-Part.com File Uploader is then used to upload the files to Car-Part.com.

The overall process is:

1place inventory → Export Car-Part.com Files → Invent.cap and NumbersMap.cap → C:\PKZip → Car-Part.com File Uploader → Car-Part.com

Understanding the Invent.cap and NumbersMap.cap Files

The 1place Car-Part.com export creates two files:

Invent.cap
The inventory export file generated by 1place for the Car-Part.com upload.

NumbersMap.cap
The associated mapping file generated with the inventory export.

Both files are generated together when Export & Download Car-Part.com Files is selected and should be moved to C:\PKZip before using the Car-Part.com File Uploader.

Do not rename or modify these files after they are generated unless instructed by Car-Part.com or OneSource Support.
