  • What happens if I open OneSource (shortly after SP1  was installed) and OneSource Hangs?
    • Problem: When SP1 is installed it changes the Microsoft Office driver 'References', which causes Access / OneSource to HANG while it is 'searching' for the new 'references' (sometimes for 30 minutes or longer)
    • Solution: Open OneSource, and just wait for 30+ minutes. After the refereneces are located you will be able to log into OneSource.
    • IMPORTANT NOTE: To prevent EVERY user from having this same problem, make a copy of your recently 'referenced' copy of OneSource and give thecopy to all users.

  • How to tell if SP1 has been installed.
    • Open the Event viewer
      • Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer
      • On left, Click on Event Viewer
      • On the bottom, center, under the Log Summary, Log Name = Application, double click on Application.
      • Click on the 'Source' column, and look for MSINstall
      • You can see the columns by date in descending order. (You will be able to see what was installed)
  • How to uninstall SP1 (Use this only if a recent installation of SP1 is causing your business a problem)
    • Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features
    • On the left side, under the bolded heading of 'Tasks' click View Installed updates.
    • Select Microsoft Office 2010 Service Pack 1 (SP1) (in the list) and then click Uninstall on the tool bar above.
