How to automatically check and receive emails (from another POP3 email account) while IN GMail

  • Log in into Gmail.
  • Click the GEAR icon button (in top right hand corner) > then click Settings
  • Click Accounts and Import tab / link (toward the top of the page).
  • Click Add a POP3 mail account you own.
  • Enter the email address you want Gmail to check for new email > then click Next Step.
  • Enter the Username: For some POP3 email providers (including OneSourceSofware.com) you need to enter the full email address here, such as johndoe@onesourcesoftware.com.
  • Enter the email account password.
  • Enter the POP Server address.  It is usually mail.your-email-domain.com  (where your-email-domain is something like yahoo or onesourcesoftware).
  • Check the Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server (if you don't want gmail to delete the email after downloading a copy of the email.  It is usually a good idea to check this.
  • Check the Label incoming messages and select the default or drop down the list and choose or make your own.
  • Click Add Account.
  • Leave selected the Yes, I want to be able to send mail as .... > then click Next Step.
  • Change the Name if desired.
  • Leave selected the Treat as an alias or click the Learn more link and decide if that setting is appropriate for your situation.  Then click Next Step >>.
  • Leave selected Send through Gmail (easier to set up), then click Next Step >>.
  • Click Send Verification button.
  • Now open up your Gmail account and see if you received the verification email from Gmail.  When you do find the long verification link and click on it.  You will be prompted that you are ready to go.
Note

Now you will be able to check all email received from your Gmail account and your POP3 account(s) in your Gmail account.  If you want to send an email FROM your POP3 account, after clicking the Compose button click on the drop down box in the From box and select the email account you want to send the email From.
