Navigating Tables and Forms
How do I remove a filter to display all records in a particular Form or Datasheet?
By default, when a record (of any type) is located using the Simple Search form, (by pressing F3, F4, etc.), the record source of the Form or Datasheet is filtered down to one record. If you would like to remove the filter, to be able to view all records in the record source, perform one of the following options:
- Click on the 'Filter' button (which is usually visible in Orange) to remove the filter.
- Right click on any part of the screen that is blank and select the Remove Filter/Sort option
How do I widen, narrow, auto-size, or move columns in a datasheet or table?
After you have opened up a datasheet (or opened up a table) in OneSource, you may want to manipulate how the datasheet or table is displayed in any of the following ways: To resize a single column:
- position your mouse on the right side of the column label
- click and drag the width of the column to the right (to increase the column width) or to the left (to decrease the column width)
- release the mouse after the desired width is achieved
To resize several columns at once:
- highlight the columns that you would like to resize by clicking and dragging your mouse over the columns that you would like to widen
- release the mouse (which will cause the columns that you have selected to appear black)
- position your mouse on the right side of a column label
- click and drag the width of the column to the right (to increase the width of all columns) or to the left (to decrease the width of all columns)
To auto-size one or more columns:
- highlight the columns that you would like to auto-size (to the width of the text in the columns)
- position your cursor on the right side of the column(s) that you would like to resize
- when the cursor changes to a left and right pointing arrow, double-click in between the two columns to automatically resize the column width to a size large enough to display all text in the column(s)
To move one or more columns:
- highlight the column(s) that you would like to move (by clicking and dragging your mouse, to the right or left, over the column headings)
- release the mouse (which will cause the columns that you have selected to appear black)
- click on a highlighted column heading and drag the column to the right or left
- release the column(s) in the position of your choice
