Depending on the Record Locking properties on certain OneSource forms, it is possible to receive an error message similar to the one below: “This record has been changed by another user since you started editing it. If you save the record, you will overwrite the changes the other user made. Copying the changes to the clipboard will let you look at the values the other user entered, and then paste your changes back in if you decide to make changes.” Cause: This appears when two users try to edit or change the same record at the same time. In some cases it can also be caused by the same user changing the same record on 2 different forms (screens) at the same time. OneSource is a Microsoft Access database. Despite the fact that 3 options are presented to the user when a Write Conflict appears, MS Access contains a documented bug that can cause one or more records to become corrupted if a user presses “Save Record” when the error message above appears. Prevention: To prevent records in OneSource from becoming corrupted when this message appears, please click Drop Changes and then re-enter that data that you are trying to save on the current form.
