Setting Up the Inventory Warehouse Management (HandHeld Batch Sync) screen
Open the Handheld Batch Sync screen
- Inventory > Inventory Warehouse Automation (handheld)
Set up the Scanned Files Path
Note: This topic assumes that your scanning system is all set up and is able to allow access to the scanned and synced files to your server. For more information contact OneSource for help setting up your scanning solution.
- In the Scanned files Path field type the path to your scanned .txt text files.
- Note: Suppose you created and shared a folder (on your PC) called 'ScannerFiles' and mapped it to drive S on your PC. Assuming your Remote Desktop connect has linked that folder to its session then the Path would most likely be: \\tsclient\S
Using the HandHeld Batch Sync screen
How to open the Handheld Batch Sync screen
- Inventory > Inventory Warehouse Automation (handheld)
Importing scanned files - step by step
- Open the Handheld batch screen (see above)
- When prompted select a Scan Type (such as Import PO)
- If you have previously imported scanned items but have NOT finalized the Process of importing the scanned items into OneSource you may be prompted to delete that data. You may want to answer no and finalize that process first.
- If you are importing PO(s):
- Selecting PO Import Options (If desired):
- If you have scanned 1 or more barcodes that are NOT an item # in OneSource (like if you scanned the Supplier's item #, or the OEM #) then you will want to click the 'Import Scanned Items to Supplier Item Number Fields' option. (This will place ALL scanned item #'s in the Supplier Item Number column and will attempt to find and update the Item Number column with YOUR item #--assuming the Suppliers' Item Number is in OneSource--which typically is the case).
- If you have scanned each item into a unique LOCATION (Bin) in your warehouse (that could be in a location different than it is usually stored in), then you will need to click the 'Split scanned line items into 1 line per item on Import' option. NOTE: When this option is used you need to be sure to split the PO line items into unique line items IN ADVANCE. You can do this using the Purchase Order Functions option (on the Purchase Order screen) to SPLIT the PO Line items into individual PO Lines--1 for each unique item. For instance, if the PO had 3 line items, ordering 5 of each item, then running this option would split the 3 line items into 15 individual PO line items. This will allow the scanning process, worst case, to assign each item to its own unique (different) Bin location.
- If some items were not fully received when the shipment came in the back door, you can also select the 'Always Back Order Difference if Qty Scanned is Less Than Qty Ordered on PO' option.
- Click the Import button to Import the scanned files.
- Click the Pre Process button to run a comparison of the items/qty's scanned vs the items/qty's on the PO.
- Click the Process button to import all scanned Qty's and Locations into the PO and auto mark it as received..
- Note: Now you should be able to see the quantities received (and the Bin Location numbers imported into each PO Line item).
