CAUTION: If you suspect that your Company Data File is corrupted, be sure to MAKE a COPY of it before taking any additional steps.
The most common reason that OneSource (or your Company Data File) may not open is if MSAccess.exe is stuck in memory. Follow these steps to correct that:
Note: If you have any other copies of OneSource or MS Access open, close those first.
Open your Windows Task Manager. (Start > Run > type taskmgr > press Enter)
Click on the Processes tab.
Click on the Image Name column (to sort the programs in memory in ascending order).
Look for MSACCESS.EXE in the list, click on it, then click the End Task button. (Note: If you are on a Windows Terminal Server you, and depending on your login rights, you may be able to see other users copies of MSACCESS.EXE in memory as well. Be sure to ONLY click on the MSACCESS.EXE where your own user name is listed in the User Name column to the right).
(Note: Repeat this step for each MSACCESS.EXE that you see in the Task Manager - Image Name column with your User Name).
If have followed the steps above and you still cannot open OneSource, please contact OneSource at support@onesourcesoftware.com for further assistance.
