NOTE: This KBA is out of date.  OneSource no longer supports PDF995. OneSource now supports BullZip PDF Printing. Click HERE to learn how to setup and use Bullzip PDF.

How to install and setup PDF995

You can download and install the free* version of PDF995 and PDFEdit995 by visiting PDF995.com or by clicking, downloading, and executing the files located at the following 3 links:

* The Free version displays a pop-up advertisement each time a new PDF is printed.  You can purchase a full license of PDF995 and PDFEdit for $19.95 (as of this writing) by clicking on the option on the pop-up advertisement.

NOTE: If you are re-installing PDF995 and PDFEdit995, and if you have already purchased a full license, and if it has been more than a full year since you purchased the licenses, you may want to locate and re-execute the files that you downloaded previously.  Any newly downloaded PDF995 files that are more than 1 year newer than the files you downloaded the day you purchased the license will require a re-purchase of the newer license.

How to auto attach a PDF995 PDF file to an email

  • Open PDFEdit995.
  • Click on the AutoLaunch tab.
  • Select the Automatically Attach PDF to Email option.

NOTE: You may also want to select or de-select the Automatically Display PDF After Printing option on this same tab as well.

How to reinstall PDF995

  • Un-install PDF995 and PDFEdit995 from the control panel
  • Re-execute the same PDF995 install files

NOTE: If you have 'purchased' a copy of PDF995 (to avoid seeing the pop up ads) more than 1 year ago, be sure to NOT download a new copy of the PDF files (but rather re-locate copies of the older executable files) as they will require a newly purchased license to discontinue the pop up ads once again.

What to do if PDF995 starts saving the wrong document

Software995 has indicated to us that this could be caused by a job stuck in the queue. Their instructions to us were as follows:

  • If the problem is on a Terminal Server (rather than an individual PC):
    • Run regedit and delete the following keys: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers\PDF995
    • Terminate any processes named pdfsave.exe.
    • Restart the Print Spooler (using Administrative Tools, Services).
    • Re-install the proper pdf995 files.
  • If the problem is on an individual PC :
    • Un-install PDF995 and PDFEdit995 (using your Control Panel)
    • Reboot your PC
    • Reinstall your (licensed) version of PDF995 and PDFEdit995 (or download newer copies of the 3 free PDF99 files.
